Target weight

I need to vent. I'm starting to think the concept of "target weight" is really dumb, and the best thing is to be happy where you are. I am pretty close to my lowest healthy weight, but I've been struggling for 2 years to get the last 6 pounds off. I started obsessing about my waist measurement, because I didn't really NEED to lose weight, but I found out I had a bigger waist (at most an inch or two) than any of my friends when I got their stats for bridesmaid dresses. Of course I conveniently ignored the fact that every single one of us have a different body type- some friends have tiny waists but are hippy, they have narrower shoulders and bone structures, etc. So I started dieting and working out at a level that couldn't be maintained. Every time I have dieted, I just ended up gaining everything back plus a pound or two, despite the fact that I continue to be careful with portions, eat healthy, continue exercising 4-5 times a week. Maybe it's time I accept my weight is the best weight for my body, even if I don't look like a fashion model. Maybe trying to get to some arbitrary number on a size chart just does more harm than good in the end, but the 24 billion dollar fitness and diet industry will never tell you that.
