I started over quietly

So quietly, that even I didn't know :) I hadn't done my monthly weigh and measure at Curves since May, when I was starting again before I got side-tracked by life. So with a little encouragement from some friends, I did it on Monday. .5 pounds from where I started three years ago, but several inches smaller :) So I hopped on the scale at Curves today and keeping in mind, I hadn't had my normal afternoon snack, I was down 2.5 pounds. I know how my body fluctuates, so if that 2.5 pounds is what it reads again on Monday, that's great :) I've been trying to eat less, better foods overall (altho that's not completely worked out yet, but it will be after I get back from the midwest, whenever that is) and REALLY working the Curves program because it's too easy to go in and just go thru the motions, not that I've done that many times (could probably count on my hands and toes how many times, but I've logged 420 workouts, so that's a low percentage and that probably counts workouts like a few weeks ago when I was dealing with some neck and back injuries from a bad driver from the car dealership GRRR), but it's almost as easy to work hard and get the full benefit of the workout :)

I'm still heavy in the hunt for a new job (Sept 15th is the latest I'll be at this one, laid off and all :) trust me, I'm happy!) and just did applications for two organizations that I would LOVE to work for (Fred Hutch and Gates Foundation). I talked to a recruiter today, but I feel like each time I talk to them, it's a waste of time because they just aren't working with many jobs and being in accounting without an accounting degree or CPA/CMA license, I'm out for many of the jobs they DO have. OR the jobs don't pay enough. I never EVER thought that the company I work for paid well. I've always been told that you'd get more at any other company, but I'm just not finding that to be true....I can afford a small cut, but not 7K like one of the jobs she read to me today. Not to mention she later told me I would be bored silly at that job....I've got a few more weeks and plenty of interview time as I got an "As far as I'm concerned, you all can come and go as you please" from my boss today. He's never really been happy and he's had short-timers since the merger was announced back in January :) (not that the rest of us haven't but we've all had a lot of work to do until about this week :)

So, I'll now post in the weigh-in thread and declare my new start :)

Have a GREAT workout!

Way to go Coli! Despite all the pressure you're under, you still keep working out and eating right! Give yourself a big pat on the back!
