Hi there,
I'm new to this forum but not new to ivillage. I haven't been on in about a year or so but was an avid message board user for a couple years. It's nice to be back.
I came here because I'm overweight and have been for about a year. It is making me increasingly depressed - which of course only causes me to want to eat more.
I have an extremely stressful job. Actually, I work at a non-profit that is providing relief services for Hurricane Katrina, and I've been working 15+ hour days since the hurricane hit - finally have a day "off" today.
I'm 95% vegetarian and lead a reasonably active lifestyle when I'm not at my desk job. I do work out but not often enough (obviously). I was diagnosed as hypothyroid about a year ago and I think that is stabilized with medication. I'd like to lose 30 lbs.
I'm interested in finding out if there are any supplements/products I can take that would help jump start my diet. At this point, I'm so down about my body and how I look that even just losing "water weight" would probably help me gain the confidence I need to hit the gym more often. I'm really struggling with my "I can't" attitude towards losing weight. If I could just see that scale go down for a couple weeks... that would give me such a boost.
Any suggestions?

Hi
I don't have any advice but wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat as you. I weighed in at 151 lbs. the other day - my heaviest non-pregnant weight ever! All I want to do is eat. It's a vicious circle and very discouraging.
If I come across anything that works for me, I'll let you know.
Hi Sheriberi68,
I hate to say it, but I'd be thrilled if I weighed what you weighed - that would be a great weight for my height/body type!!! (Jealous!) I'm glad to hear that someone can relate to what I'm saying. I know it might not be *right* to want to kick start, but I sure think it would help... the stress of my job is killing me right now.
