Decreased calories by 2/3, no loss

I have cut my calorie intake to below 1000-1200 a day and I swear I have only lost some dimension in my breasts. Not much is noticeable except I don't feel as bloated. When the heck is it gonna start coming off? My exercise amount hasn't increased, but I am pretty active all day long. I maintained 150 lbs on a 5'8 frame for many years with that amount of activity, so why isn't anything happening now?

How long has it been since you cut back on your calories?
I've been watching calories and fat for 1 week and my feelings and weight have been roller-coasting. I started last Tuesday at 184. Saturday I was at 179. Sunday 180, Sunday evening 181, Monday 182, Tuesday (today) 179. ARGGG. I have a journal going and I mentioned there that I've heard that if you drastically cut back on your food intake, your body can think you're starving so it will slow down the metabolism and stuff. So it could be a matter of finding what works for you. I never tracked my calories or anything before I started dieting, so I'm not sure where I was to begin with. But my normal daily intake was about like this: Donuts, Burger & Fries, King size candy bar, Meat & Potato for supper good size portion, plus I would have about 3 cups coffee and 2-3 Cokes everyday and usually something to munch on in the evening. So this week that I've been dieting my average calories are at around 1160 per day, with fat grams under 20. But because my calories were so low this week, I tried to take in a few more "healthy" calories this weekend so that I could out smart my body...
Just stick with it and research other options or "tricks" that might work for you (not eating after 7:00 pm, drink lots of water, blah-blah-blah).
I did pretty much the same thing as you and here is what I found worked for me.
First, I never go below 1200 calories.
Come visit my page and say hi!Welcome! I think you're not consuming enough calories. Your body is using every calorie you are eating just to keep it going. There's no calories for it to burn and help you lose weight.
Also, as you get older, taking off the weight or maintaining a certain weight takes more effort. So you will probably need to increase your exercise.
Good luck!
I totally agree, I think your calories are too low.
