Total Body Make Over

Hi All

I completed the 12 week total body makeover program yesterday and here are the stats.

Starting weight: 220lb
Final weight: 189lb
Weight lost: 31lb
Inches lost: 4 inches off my hips, 5 inches off my waist and some off my bust but was not measuring that regularly.

Fitness has gone from low to wow. Running a 10km fun run tomorrow. At the start was able only to walk/run for 30 minutes and now can run for 90minutes without any problems. Able to lift 19.8lb dumbells, and leg press 220lb.

As you can see the progress is incredible and even more than I expected.
My biggest challenge is still the eating, which I manage most of the time but have the ocassional lapse when the emotional eating creeps up on me. One thing I have learned though is to be kind to myself. I have a tendency to get down on myself for one small mistake, but will now focus on all the positive things that I have done.
I will be on vacation for 3 weeks and exercising will not be easy. I am going to try and squeeze in 30min everyday so that I can maintain the fitness that I have gained.
I plan to resume a new exercise regime at the end of October.
Thanks for letting me share my experience

Hi

This is a program in a book, of the same title. It is written by Bob Greene, Oprah's trainer. It talks a lot about getting emotional eating under control and contains the stories of successful losers in addition to an exercise program. The exercise composed mainly of cardio and strength training and stretching. The amount of cardio depends on your starting level of fitness. As an intermediate I started with 30min cardio 5 days a week and a double session one day week. Plus a series of strenth training exercises plus stretches. You add 2 minutes to your cardio workout each week and that means your double workout also increases by 4 minutes each week too.I mostly cycled on the stationary bike and ran on the treadmill for my cardio workouts.
The level of intensity also had to pretty high, the kind that gets your heart pounding, but not completely winded. If you can exercise 6 days a week then go for it. Amazingly I only felt tired at the beginning but after the first couple of weeks my energy levels were up. But I also learnt to make sleep a priority.
Hope this helps

That is great and I'm not surprised that you were only tired in the beginning.
