I was thinking we could do something different this time.
I think that sound great, Monica! I need SOMETHING! LOL :)
First week at the new job went ok. I mean, I think I did well, but the job got very interesting for all involved and will only get more interesting! But for the time being, I should be able to get back into a really healthy exercise routine as well as getting my eating back on track. Yup, I should be able to reach 3 pounds in 4 weeks and if I could do that EVERY week, that'd be about 40 pounds a year which I would be VERY happy with!!!!!!
Have a GREAT workout!

Good idea, and good motivation! I was just sitting here feeling guilty because I ate too much pizza tonight; this idea cheered me up. I have been good all week...averaging about 1600-1700 calories a day, exercising, and today I was very hungry (PMS, I think) and slipped a bit. My Husband was home today, and my discipline is always a bit lax then because he seems to think I look fine and don't need to lose anything. So, yes, the challenge sounds realistic and timely for me.
Thanks for thinking of this!
Coli,
I'm glad things went well your first week of work.
Count me in
Sounds like just what I need too!
I was doing okay, but this weekend has been awful
My stomach and back are aching, dont even know why.........but when I eat, I feel better, ???? so needless to say, Ive been eating , eating, eating
I hate feeling icky
I got on the scale this morning, and yep, going UP again

Have a good one,
Gayle
Hi,
I think it's good to have the challenge and set a realistic goal date but I also think that there should be another part to this equation. I think that setting a non-weight goal would be more effective than just focusing on the weight loss alone. For example, increasing cardio time to 40 minutes instead of 30 minutes, introducing a new vegetable or fruit during the week, cooking one new healthy recipe for the week or reducing juice and coffee intake and drinking 1.5-2 litres of water/day. I know from my own personal experience with losing weight (and still losing - 15 pounds to go) that I was more successful when I was setting my sights on enjoying my workouts and trying something new, such as hiking up hills instead of the usual path, cooking something new every week while I was in University, which made me feel good and I looked forward to trying something new as well (I'm vegetarian). I found that I wasn't so bored with my food choices anymore and I really enjoyed cooking again. It also took the focus off of my body and weight and shifted it to doing things that I enjoyed doing but without feeling anxious or stressful about it. I noticed that when I think about the number (my weight) and look at myself all of the time, then I base how I feel on that number. Even those times when I did lose weight, I didn't feel so proud about it because I knew that I wasn't consistently eating properly or doing all of the right things. The weight came off but within a matter of a few weeks, I was back to where I started because I didn't work at the other things which are just as important in losing and keeping it off.
I hope you don't mind me sharing my thoughts. I am new to this particular site and decided to join in because I need the support. I shared a bit of myself in the previous discussion before this one. I use to weigh over 200lbs. and have been working at losing the remaining 15lbs. so I understand what you are all going through. The above comments are my own personal thoughts and are meant to help and be supportive. I look forward to getting to know you.
I absolutly love the idea.
I am due for a challenge :)
