Monday's Moans or Moments (m)
Sometimes you just need to vent a little and you feel better or you're having one of those special moments in your life and you want to share it with your pals. Well, here's the place.
We're listening!!!

Grumble, grumble, grumble (m)
I just spent almost three hours getting home by walking (in 85-90 degree weather)and riding the bus. They changed the route of my first bus because they're widening the street at the corner where I usually catch it. Now I have to walk six blocks one way or another to catch it. Then I transfer to another, ride it around to the grocery store, pick up groceries and re-catch that one an hour later to ride it a mile on to my apartment. Although I asked the driver to let me off in front of my apartment complex, which the regular driver does, the relief driver didn't understand and let me off a block down the street (it was now almost 95 degrees) and I had to walk that block and the equivanlence of another after I got inside the complex carrying my tote bag and three bags of groceries. Can you say HEAT STROKE!?!
I'm now sitting here with a BIG pepsi, the air conditioner running full tilt and a fan blowing on my big feet.
After complaining to you, I remembered the young man in a wheel chair who was riding the bus and got off a few blocks before my place, zipping across the street in his motorized wheelchair in that 95 degree weather with a big smile on his face. Boy do I feel lucky--and a little ashamed of my grousing.
Well, thanks for listening. Big hugs to everyone.

NVS, NVS, NVS...(m)
I grumbled a little yesterday at work. The area where I was felt to be about ninety degrees; everything that could go wrong, did. And to top it all, I could pin point exactly where my irritability was stemming from. I told a co-worker I was suffering from NVS. She laughed when I explained. "NVS--No Vacation Syndrome."
Have a good week! Sammi
I'm a "cup is half full/Mary Poppins" type and ...
things seem to go much better for me when I remember how good life is. Even when things might seem downhill (the hot Arizona commute) if you look for it, you will find something to offset your discomfort (the young man in the wheel chair). I've reached a stage in life where I can be satisfied with what I have because I earned it, I chose it, and/or it pleases me. It gives me great peace, and I wish the same for all of you.
Welcome Hittherroad and thanks (m)
for your inspiring words. I agree that life is what you make of it. Sometimes it's hard to see the good things if you're dwelling on the bad. Thanks for the reminder!

NVS can be painful, Sammi. Hope (m)
you can get it cured after the wedding's over. Maybe then you'll be able to breathe again and take a few days off work to enjoy yourself!

You've got my ear anytime, Linda! (nt)
I'm doing a little paying for my fun this weekend...
I went on a backpacking trip through a remote canyon in central AZ, and I decided it was too hot to sleep in the tent. My big mistake! I now have between 100 and 150 mosquito bites all over my body! I look like I've got chicken pox! Some price to pay for a weekend in one of the more scenic spots on earth...
So now, every spot on my body itches like there is no tomorrow, my job is in a total state of chaos because...well, because that is SOP (standard operating procedure) around here, and to top it all off, I have no time off between now and October!
ARGG!
LOL sammi, I get at least once a month, and vacation only comes once a year -sob! (n/t)

Get some Rhuli gel, Wendy. It's the best (m)
anti-itch stuff I've found. I'm feel for you. Those darn mosquitos love my blood too. I can't go out of the house without dipping myself in "Off".

Hi hittheroad, welcome to SSB(m)
Hope you'll stick around and try the July exercise (hint, hint). I like your attitude. At 60, I agree with you about enjoying life. Just when I get the grumblies, fate steps in and reminds me how much I have to be thankful for.
