Monday's Moans or Moments (m)

Sometimes you just need to vent a little and you feel better or you're having one of those special moments in your life and you want to share it with your pals. Well, here's the place.

We're listening!!!

I'm moooooaning again. Do I ever have a moment? (m)

On the way to work this morning, something possessed me (I’m still trying to figure out what because I am NOT a morning person) to stop and wash my car. I get the car all lathered up (suds flowing everywhere) and flip the dial to rinse. You can guess what happened. The rinse cycle lasted about two seconds so I had to feed another $1.00 into that machine. Why don’t they just charge $2.00 to begin with instead of getting your hopes up that you’ll be able to wash and rinse in all in one round? I think there’s a big car wash laboratory where they test to see how long it takes. That way they know exactly when to shut the machine off, forcing you to pay for another round. LOL

Only in America can we have things like this to moan about!

A GOOD moment --- good news(m)

Just for a change, I'm not whining here ... my short story "Blackberries in May" won 2nd prize in a competition sponsored by www.AmazingAuthors.com. This was for a romance short story with supernatural elements, but no smut allowed, the last quite an effort for me. I had the first draft up on ivillage's The Story Board a few weeks back.

It's not posted yet, but it will be up on a page with my bio and real name (and possibly a photo of myself as an 8-year old, the last good photo taken of me). I'll let you know when it's up.

I was hoping for the first prize as it included some Godiva chocolate, but I get various odds n ends including a certificate and a tshirt, and I received some very complimentary comments from the judges.

Maryann, I screamed so loud when I read the email (m)

that my nearest and dearest came running to see what was wrong! The computer was not terribly excited; well, we have a different sort of relationship.
