If you don't have a pet or aren't an animal lover, read no further.
My cocker spaniel is very sick. It happend out of the blue Sunday night. She has been throwing up almost once an hour, has the runs and is very off balance. She won't eat and will hardly drink any water. We took her to the vet Monday. Her blood work came back normal, and they think she has gastritis. They gave her antibiotics, but it's hard to give them to her since she won't eat. I'm having to just stick them in her mouth and force her to swallow them, which I hate.
My dh asked the life expectancy of a cocker and the vet said 13 years. Brittany is 13 and will be 14 in December, if she makes it. This is all very hard for me to take. I just put one of my dogs down in March, a german shepherd, after 12 years together. Brittany is my special girl. I can't tell you how much I love her. She is my shadow and follows me everywhere. We have a really special bond and just thinking of losing her is killing me.
Can't talk anymore, overwhelmed by tears and sorrow.
