Humm... some of these made me think!
1. What is your favorite garment to wear in cool weather?
Well, the whole idea of "cool" weather is somewhat decieving in Tucson...but I have this great OLD black sweatshirt that I think I will have to bury with honors when all the little holes meet each other...
2. What is one thing about you that would surprise everyone reading your answers?
I have a lot of difficulty meeting new people. I'm pretty shy in social situations.
3. What is your idea of a perfect weekend?
Hiking the canyon or gardening or painting a room or sipping strawberry daquris by the pool-tough to choose!
4. What is your favorite line(s) from a movie?
Today it's "You left just when you were becoming interesting" said by Doctor Henry Jones to his son Indiana in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"
5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)?
At work I have pictures of my family and my pets, a selection of stuffed critters (turtles, lambs, dogs, martians) and a couple of plants. At home it's pretty bland - mostly just computer hardware and bills. I'm anal about organization, so I don't have piles of paper or tons of little scribbled notes. Just can't deal with the clutter!
Here's my F5 (m)
1. What is your favorite garment to wear in cool weather?
The only thing that I like about cold weather is that I get to wear SWEATERS!!!!
2. What is one thing about you that would surprise everyone reading your answers?
I guess that I’m shy. Although I warm up to people quite quickly, I hate to do anything in big crowds of people (I like small groups like the Internet-LOL).
3. What is your idea of a perfect weekend?
Never having to get out of my pajamas.
4. What is your favorite line(s) from a movie?
I love movies but the ending (and I couldn’t just pick one line) of Eve’s Bayou has always stuck in my mind:
“Like others before me, I have the gift of sight but truth changes color, depending on the light. And tomorrow can be clearer than yesterday. Memory is a selection of images, some elusive, others printed indelibly on the brain. Each image is like a thread, woven together to make a tapestry of intricate textures and the tapestry tells a story, and that story is our past.”
5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)?
My desk (at home because that’s where I write most) has a big stack of papers, a photo album, a printer, shamrock pen and holder, The Synonym Finder by J.I. Rodale, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Volumes I and II of A North Georgia Journal of History by Olin Jackson. Okay, basically it’s a mess.
my 5
1. What is your favorite garment to wear in cool weather? My Hildegard of Bingen sweatshirt but my daughter has stolen it.
2. What is one thing about you that would surprise everyone reading your answers?
3. What is your idea of a perfect weekend? One where I am not bugged to take anyone out to the mall or a movie I don't want to see, where someone else finishes off the painting job I started last Easter, plus a few little extra jobs around the house and yard, and the plot for my novel miraculously falls into place.
4. What is your favorite line(s) from a movie? "I'll be back." (You have to say it in a German accent. It's Arnold, pant pant, in Terminator 2)
5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)? OK, you asked. As well as the computer, keyboard, mouse, speakers, modem etc: a CD of medieval music, stapler, "The Elvenbane" by Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey (dd's), a bit of today's paper, a bit of yesterday's paper, some more bits of newspaper, some bills I have to look at, vase, cardfile, ceramic plate with a strange (?) pewter decorative thing on it in which are 6 napkin rings, a couple of screws and a doohickie to countersink nails, some notecards, CD--"Rubber Soul" by the Beatles, "In the Presence of the Enemy" by Elizabeth George, a folder with my writing class notes, my daughter's CD case, "Weight Watchers Versatile Vegetarian" Cookbook, War issue of Journal of the Blue Planet, a college catalogue (dd's), Oct 2001 Romance Writers Report, various odd bits of paper, a mug with pens in it, a Queen CD (dd's), a notepad, an origami wotsit my daughter made me, nailclippers, legal pad, "Guilty Pleasures" by Laurell K. Hamilton (dd's), empty M&M bag.
oops, forgot #2 (m)
something that would surprise people .... in view of my answer to #5, I can only say my exceptional inner organization.
And I thought my desk was crowded!!! (nt)
I'm revising my answer to #3 (m)
Never having to get out of my pajamas EXCEPT when "sipping strawberry daquris by the pool".
Good idea, Wendy.

5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)? Junk, junk, junk! Lots of sticky notes stuck to my monitor, on the desk, plus folders that I put the things I print off from ivillage, one per topic.
Mine are also late, Sammi.. . .
1. What is your favorite garment to wear in cool weather?
Turtle necks and chanile, (spelling) that soft fuzzy stuff.
2. What is one thing about you that would surprise everyone reading your answers?
I have a horrible fear of rejection.
3. What is your idea of a perfect weekend?
Getting together with friend's and just goofing off, without getting a headache from my friend's cigarette smoke
4. What is your favorite line(s) from a movie?
From Braveheart, "Every man dies, but not every man really lives." That goes for women as well.
5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)?
OMG, I could just say junk and to much of it, but I will discribe it because that is what us writers do. The desk is about two feet by four feet and the top is almost invisible under all the junk.
Starting at the left we have, the computer and speakers, in a corner there is a shopping list, a book mark, bit of change and a ribbon from red ribbon week that says "Wazup? Not drugs!" in front of the computer and slightly under it, I have the instructions for my stop watch, an old check stub, an address on an index card and a set of those metalic star stickers.
To the right of the computer working from back to front is, the other speaker, a post it note box with floppies on top of the speaker. I have a matching pen holder with pens and keys in it, one of those page flip calanders that can be used from year to year. Today's quote is "I thank you, God in heaven, for friends. When morning wakes, when daytime ends, I have the consciousness of loving hands that touch my own, of tender glance and gentle tone, of thoughts that cheer and bless!" Margaret Sangster. Is that a run on sentence or what?
Next to that, bee's wax candle and holder, a letter holder full of computer CD's, a and in front of it, I have another candle. My mouse and mouse pad are setting on a book about beading because there are strange little bumps on the particle board top of the desk and the mouse won't work right.
Moving over just a tad, we have a pic of my bro, a small wooden box with push pins and paper clips as well as more floppies. In front of that, a Wal-Mart recept, a box of fake fingernails, spool of thread, two sets of earrings, a cuff key, a 9mm bullet, a bracelet, fingernail file and clippers and my debit card that I just got.
And still there is more. A nice lamp that looks like it should be in a fancy library, a cup, a small glass bowl minus the candle that was in it, couple books of stamps, more fake fingernails, fingernail polish, a pic of my niece, Amber, the candle that is supposed to be in the bowl, finger nail glue and a Gerber multi tool, I use to pluck my one whisker. LOL
Was that more information than you needed?
