I loved that line too! (nt)
No, but it's got me real curious (m)
As I was reading your description of your desk, all kind of stories popped into my mind. I think I might have to borrow your 9mm bullet, fake fingernails and the one whisker for a short story, okay?
Mac
Geez Mac....I had to strain the brain on these (m)
1) I don't go anywhere without my stocking hat and heavy socks.
2) I mulled this question over all day yesterday and all I could come up with was: I live in an unique house. It sits on 80 acres, has six bedrooms, two baths, family room, dining room, living room, kitchen, utility room, no basement and there isn't one hallway in the whole house.
3) My idea of the perfect weekend,is too x-rated to post;)
4) Harrison Fords line, Get off my plane!
5) My writing area is at the dining room table, I'll just say that its amid lots of clutter most times. I write my stories out by long hand in a notebook. Most days I truly dislike typing.
Sounds like a great place (m)
to live--nice and private!!!
Mac
PS...we'll just have to wait for the x-rated weekend to show up in one of your stories! LOL
Nothing like being surrounded by inspiration! (n/t)
Longhand????
Ohmigawd! I can't imagine that! I get cramps from writing out my checks! (OK, so it's an exaggeration). I have to say, I think that is a very romantic writerly picture - the sprawling house, the large oak table, the writer by dim light...
Wendy
LOL No problem, what were you curious about? Maybe where my keyboard was?
I type with it in my lap. As for the mess on my desk, I have found that I create best in chaos. Good thing, I'm a horrible house keeper.
Just be glad you did not get the list of junk under the desk, or on the little pull out keyboard tray. You would have been reading all day.
I want to read that story when you finish it.

My Friday five.(m)
1. What is your favorite garment to wear in cool weather?
Flannel shirts (I just bought three new ones, different colors of plaids, because I'd worn a hole in the elbow of my old one.)
2. What is one thing about you that would surprise everyone reading your answers?
I'm really pretty intelligent.
3. What is your idea of a perfect weekend?
To curl up with a good book or interesting magazine, take a walk in the beautiful autumn weather, write a witty, interesting story--heheheh.
4. What is your favorite line(s) from a movie?
In The Birdcage, Nathan Lane is mad at Robin Williams and says, to Hank Azarias, "Whatever I am, he (Robin Williams) made me. I was adorable once... Now look at me. I'm this short, fat, insecure middle-aged thing."
Robin Williams says, "I made you short?"
5. What is on your desk (or place where you write)?
Well, let's see. Computer and monitor, tape, pencil sharpener, etc., extra 3.5 in floppies, phone clip board with ideas scribbled on it, writing magazines, all my writing books (on the extension), alcohol and swabs--to clean the d--- mouse, a lamp, bills, a magnifying glass, cigarettes and lighter, ash tray, and a big mug of pop.
B'dea, b'dea, b'dea, that's all folks.

Now, I have to admit (m)
your answer to #2 didn't surprise me--I knew you were VERY intelligent!
I loved your favorite line. Birdcage was a hilarious movie, wasn't it?
