A moment (for a change) (m)

I woke up this morning (sleepy as heck because I read a book until 1:30 AM) but I felt like I had such a productive weekend for once. In between household chores like grocery shopping and cleaning house, I completed my SSB exercise and gave blood. The only thing weird about my weekend was that I had this funky dream about me and Sigfried & Roy (and we weren't training the lions-LOL). So if you're into dream analysis, help me figure that one out.

Hope everyone has a GREAT week,

Mac

I had a moment. . .

When I write, I WRITE.

I woke up at three in the morning yesterday and had a story idea. I started working on it and what do you know it comes around to one in the afternoon and I took a break. I think I worked on it a little bit more last night.

This morning I get up and do a little line editing and adding to it. I have a mystery here, when I had been aiming for a romance. Oh, well it sounds good so far. I'm on page 18 and still writing. People are dropping like flies. Two dead on the second page and one wounded. My main character almost bought the farm on the same page. It is not a short story obviously, but it is turning into an interesting mystery.

Hmmmmm, Siegfried and Roy, huh?(m)

Well I'm stumped! I won't ask what you WERE doing-heheheh. But I'm glad you had such a productive weekend. Feels great, doesn't it.

Big hug,

A couple of little mmoments(m)

As some of you know, I've been worried about my son. (Okay, he's thirty, but us moms never quit worrying, in case some of you younger mothers thought that day would come.)

He's been trying to reinlist in the army, get back in school, and get a car. Well, since he had seven years of Reserves after he left the army, and has X number of college credits, they want him to (and will pay for it)go back to school through the ROTC program. When he graduates, he'll come out an officer in the reserves. He also found a good, affordable used car, finally, so now he can go get his son for visits and overnighters. His son lives with his mom and stepdad about 20 miles from here.

So I am so happy for him. I'm a happy mama.

Good news, Linda (m)

I remembered you mentioned your son's reinlistment before and I’m glad it’s working out for him, as well as him getting a car so he can visit with his son. That’s so important, I’m know to your son and you.

Thanks for sharing this happy news,

Mac

Welcome back Linda...

I wrote a short story called "Dove's Call" that you critiqued, and it was about my 17 yr.old son moving back home (Oregon) to finish his senior year of high school. We moved to San Diego the end of his sophmore year. He, too, is my only. I feel that I've been short changed on the mom gig, just not fully ready to hand over my badge. He is doing well there, living with a dear family of friends, but we miss him terrilby. I awake around mid-night on weekends, listening for his footfall, TV, key in the door. I worry about the state of the world and our nations role, and the age of my son. SO I completely identify with you concern regarding your son's reinlistment. The news you shared is comforting. And yes, it's true young moms, it never goes away, the love and concern for your children.

My moments come unannounced in an empty house.

Thank god, for paper and pencil (or keyboard)!

Warm Blessings, Kat

You mean the worry never stops?

I guess it wouldn't.. it just changes to different worries. Right now, for me, I worry if he's okay during the day while I'm working. I worry that he's getting enough love and enough to eat. I worry that some night he might not wake up. I think I have more gray hair that I did before I gave birth. hehe

Congrats to your son, Linda, on his reinlistment. Does this make you worry? Especially in this troubled times. I know I would. I'm so glad my husband is out of the Air Force (he fought in the Gulf War). I don't I could stand it if he were over there.

Take care.

Wow! That is awesome!

Good for you! If I did that, I would be so wiped out. Sleep is a precious commodity around my house these days since we have a 2 month old. :-) Congrats on your story!

I'm a blood donar too (m)

Both my husband and I are. And they love our blood - he is 0 negative and I'm 0 positive. Isn't it great to have a productive weekend? I think it's productive when I can get all the laundry done. hehe
