Monday's Moans or Moments (m)
Sometimes you just need to vent a little and you'll feel better or you're having one of those special moments in your life and you want to share it with your pals. Well, here's the place.

I have a moan and a moment
My moan: getting back to work and sending my 2-month old son to the babysitting. The good news? He's with his grandma, so I'm not terribly worried about him....well, just a little bit. But not too bad. :-)
My moment: Seeing his beautiful smiling face when I get home from work everyday. It makes my heart smile. I don't know what I'd ever do without that little boy.

I would imagine it's difficult (m)
to leave him (even if it's with grandma) but what can you do. Most of us have to work, huh? I'm sure seeing his smiling makes coming home wonderful!

a moment (m)
this actually happened last week but I'm still boasting about it. I'd submitted a short story to a website called fictionline.com that deals with lit fic, and they charge a minimal reading fee (about $2) and (this is really cool) the site offers a tracking system, where you can plug in a number and see where your story is. The deal is that if it gets to 3 or more editors, you stand a chance of being published and get paid $1000.
Well------I didn't win, but I did make it to a 3rd editor, and I'm really pleased. Rejection with honor. So now I've submitted the story to another publication (3c/word!!!!). Keep your fingers crossed.
fyi, some of you may remember this one--it's my story about the silkie that was rejected by Dark Regions mag as being pornographic. I did remove 2 sentences to bring it down to a R rating from its original X rating.

good news Linda! (m)
glad to hear things are falling into place for him, and you too--obviously he has your good genes!

That's neat (m)
Thanks for telling us about the website. I'm going to check it out.
Yes, I remember your wonderful silkie story. Congrats on your story making it to the 3rd editor! I'll keep my fingers crosses about the other submission.

Thanks kat, sigh, I know what you mean about those quiet moments.(nt)

Well, it does slow down a little as they get older.(m)
And yes, I worry a little about his reinlistment. He'll be in college for another two to three years (good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise), but in this crazy climate, you just never know. But I respect his choice and his judgement.
Hang in there michelle.

Oh michelle, I remember those days (m)
I had to go back to work when my son was 2 mo. too. I had a wonderful woman to babysit. But it's hard to go off and leave them at that age. Hang in there darlin'. It does get easier as you go along. And those little moments between mother and child do make it all worth while, don't they.
Big virtual hug, and kiss that baby for me.
