My five

1 Thanksgiving - food and family, no commercialism

2 I usually get on the computer twice a day

3 Two weeks ago I baked a batch of chocolate chunk cookies

4 My senior English teacher Mrs. Fisher had a passion for teaching, reading and writing, and that made her classes fun. My other favorite was Mr. Holmes, because he was HOT and I had a major crush on him.

5 I would write my own story. I've been keeping journals since I was seventeen, so in a way, I already have!

1. What’s your favorite holiday? The one where I am left alone to write, and have gourmet meals fixed for me, the house cleaned and the garden fixed up by a team of quiet professionals.

2. How often do you get on a computer and/or the Internet during an average day? An embarrassing amount of times. It gets obsessive.

3. When was the last time you baked something and what was it? I made a cake for my mother in law's birthday in June. It was a four-layer lemon cake with strawberries and whipped cream between the layers and on top. Other than squash and potatoes, but I don't think that's what you mean!

4. Who was your favorite schoolteacher? They were all horrible, but the most noteworthy were the lesbian gym teacher with false teeth (it was an all-girls school), and the English teacher who told us quite seriously that when characters in Jane Austen novels went out for a walk in the country they were actually going to have sex under the hedgerows.

5. Would you rather write your life story or have someone else write it for you? Well, my life is not very interesting, so I'd rather have someone write a sensational, fictionalized account.

ME!

1. What’s your favorite holiday?

Hm.. probably Christmas, since that's really the only time my whole family gets together during the year.

2. How often do you get on a computer and/or the Internet during an average day?

LOTS! I work all day on a computer and I surf at least an hour a day.

3. When was the last time you baked something and what was it?

The last time was for August birthdays for the office (I was 9 mos. pregnant too!) and it was two cheesecakes - a NY Style and a Chocolate. They were both to die for.

4. Who was your favorite schoolteacher?

Mrs. Baron in first grade and Mrs. Chestnut in third.

5. Would you rather write your life story or have someone else write it for you?

I think I'd rather write it.. I like to embellish. LOL!

My Five (m)

1. What’s your favorite holiday?

Christmas. I love to decorate each room of my house in a different theme: living room=Santa Claus, kitchen=snowman, dinning room=angels, bedroom=baseball santas, and then my most special is my Irish room.

2. How often do you get on a computer and/or the Internet during an average day?

A lot. I work for myself so I’m on all day. I even use it for work a little too -LOL.

3. When was the last time you baked something and what was it?

About six months ago, I made one of those one-dish chicken meals. It turned out horrible (of course) so I ended up throwing the whole thing in the trash after one bite. My husband wouldn’t even try it because it looked so disgusting.

4. Who was your favorite schoolteacher?

Mr. Ed Roberts. He ran the VICA program at my high school and we became very good friends. He passed away about ten years ago and I miss him very much.

5. Would you rather write your life story or have someone else write it for you?

I’d rather someone else write it because my childhood was rather sad and I don’t think I could write it without sounding like “oh poor me.” Does that make sense?

Welcome Amanda You're a terrific artist (m)

I sneaked a peek at your drawings and pictures (cute little girl you have). I hope you decided to hang around with us here at the SSB for a while. We've got a lot of exercises and fun things we do each week.

Can you make me a strawberry (m)

cheesecake for my birthday? Just kidding. I'm envious of your baking skills. I burn taco shells if that gives you an idea of my culinary skills.

Absolutely!

Just tell me when your bday is! ;-) My co-workers love my cheesecakes. In fact, one girl said I should start a bakery and call it "Miles of Cheesecake" (my last name is Miles). I thought it was a cute idea. hehe

Cheesecakes are really easy. I'll share my recipe(s) if you'd like. :-)

My answers:

1. What’s your favorite holiday? Christams. I have extraordinary memories of this holiday that were shared with my children.

2. How often do you get on a computer and/or the Internet during an average day? LOL, to many times to count on one hand.

3. When was the last time you baked something and what was it? Peanutbutter cookies with white chocolate chunks, baked one day last week.

4. Who was your favorite schoolteacher? Mr. Mansfield, my architect teacher in high school.

5. Would you rather write your life story or have someone else write it for you? I'm not sure about this one. My life story would have to been told in series. I've had three husbands. LOL
