Need SYMPATHY here, so lay it on thick please.(m)

Well I heard from the agent (a very nice rejection) about the short story collection/novella. She thinks its a wonderful body of work, full of a grace and poignance she's rarely encoutered. But she thinks it would be tough for her to sell.

Waaaaaahhh! I understand. My work is neither literary nor genre, so it would be hard to sell. But I do feel very encouraged by her kind words. So, I'm going to query small publishers on my own and see what happens. I'm not discouraged girls, but I must admit I'm a little disappointed.

And to top it off, my mouse went phooey on me the other day (which is why I haven't been around). But never fear, I got a new one tonight and no longer have to hold the old one in my hand and stroke its little belly button to get it to work for a few seconds at a time. Life is good.

Hugs,

Linda

Hugs and Kisses ...(m)

...on the cheek, and a nice steady pat on the back. So they rejected your short story collection. You'll submit it to someone else, as many times as you need to until someone does pick it up. How many times did Richard Paul Evans get rejected before someone picked up "The Christmas Box?" I believe I read more than a hundred.

And congrats on the new mouse. I got one of them fancy ones that have the spangled ball in the center. Loving it so far. Have a nice Thanksgiving. Sammi

Linda,

I'm sorry to hear about the rejection and can certainly understand how you'd be disappointed. But I'm sure there's a home somewhere out there and I know you'll find.

Hang in there buddy,

Mac

Hey Linda, we're so proud of you. I am crossing my fingers all the way for you and sending a digital heap o' chocolate. You will get published, I'm sure of it--you've heaps of talent and (I think this may be just as important) you're willing to do the gruntwork/homework to get your work published.

Commiserations, hugs, with much admiration,
