TINY TUESDAY (m)

In week four of our writing with our senses, let's write a scene or short story that concentrates on taste/mouth.

Happy writing,

I don't do the party thing, hubby seems to think I should stay home with him. LOL! I liked the shoulder angels technique, nice change from the voice of ones conscious. Thanks for sharing this, Sammi

LOL mac, all I remember is (m)

that you substitute mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip, either one) for the oil in the cake recipe. My stepmom used to make it. I have seen recipes for it in older cookbooks. It is delicious.

I love okra, but I have to tell you a funny story. My aunt Georgia used to make fried okra (rolled in cornmeal) for us kids when we were little, and we always loved it. One time we went to visit my dad's aunt, way down in Grand, Oklahoma -- near the Texas border. My sis and I were about 9 and 10. At dinner time, she asked us if we liked okra, and we both said, "Yes, we love it."

Well, at dinner there was this dish of green gooey stuff that my dad insisted we take a bite of --yetch!!! Great aunt Ola kept passing it to us, and we kept passing it on.

When dinner was over, (and the dish was still full,) she said to my dad, "I thought those kids loved okra."

"He just laughed and told her that we were used to fried okra, and that we'd neve tasted it boiled.

LOL, and I've never eated it boiled since!

Hehehe sammi, I've heard it pronounced (m)

crappie too. My dad always called them croppies (maybe he was broadening that "a"), so that's what I called them. Whichever you call 'em, call ME if you're cookin' them little dudes for dinner. Yum!

You had me craving chocolate cake! This was an enjoyable read. The characters were lively and I loved the ending. Wonderful job!
