My Five!

1) Who is your favorite television actor/actress?

I like that chick on Alias - Jennifer Garner. That's my new favorite show!

2) What items are attached to your computer’s monitor (home or work or both)?

Home: Nada! haha

Work: Pic of DH, pic of my boy, a reminder to do my timesheet on Friday, a Harley-Davidson bar and shield sticker, miscellaneous work-related items, and a few sayings that are too long to put here. LOL

3) When did you get your first automobile?

I was 17. My dad bought me a cherry-red 1990 Geo Metro, 4 door with a hatchback and 3 (yes THREE!) cylinders. It was a hoot to drive. I had to turn the air off to get anywhere. haha

4) How is your life different today than a decade ago?

Oh gosh.. I'm happily married, have a beautiful baby boy, am successful at work, and WRITING once again. At 19, I was about to get married for the first time (my first stupid mistake) and busy working for a company that ended up just diappearing one day. My payroll check bounced. Boy was that a mess, I'll tell ya... So glad to have that all behind me now.

5) Have you ever woke up during the night or the wee hours of the morning and wrote down an idea? If so, did you develop it into a story?

Yes. And it became the prologue of a story that I have yet to finish. LOL

my 5

1) Who is your favorite television actor/actress? I don't watch very much tv tho I do like Wayne Brady on "Whose Line is it Anyway?"

2) What items are attached to your computer’s monitor (home or work or both)? At home, nothing. At work, I have a small heart-shaped lidded ceramic container on the top, and 3 labels that I can flip down: Kettle (a reminder so it doesn't boil dry), Library (if I've gone to do some research) and Taking the Air (if I've gone for a walk). Also a list of Word's short cuts for foreign accents. And a lot of dust.

3) When did you get your first automobile? My first, owned only by me and not jointly with some spouse, about ten years ago, and I still have it--a Nissan Pulsar with 159,000 miles on it. The first car I owned with someone else was a Saab, in the days when I was a yuppy and we thought we had money to burn.

4) How is your life different today than a decade ago? I'm ten years older(howls of laughter), weigh more, have more gray hair. On the positive side, I now write, don't have to worry about hiring babysitters, and flatter myself that I'm smarter.

5) Have you ever woke up during the night or the wee hours of the morning and wrote down an idea? If so, did you develop it into a story? Not for fiction, because my ideas become so obsessive they stay in my mind, altho I have got up in the middle of the night to write for a few hours and then gone back to bed. But I don't do much of the jotting down thing.

My five

1) Who is your favorite television actor/actress? Don't have one- don't watch much tv

2) What items are attached to your computer’s monitor (home or work or both)? Nada

3) When did you get your first automobile? When I was 20 I got a 17 year old boat of a car.

4) How is your life different today than a decade ago?

10 years ago I was looking forward to college graduation and moving to Chicago where I was going to take the world of electrical engineering by storm. Now Chicago is but a memory, and I'm living in a lovely little town that's a great place to raise a family, I'm married to a wonderful man, and recently left my job to be a stay-at-home mom. (If you'd told me 10 years ago that I'd be delighted to be a "housewife," I would've said you were nuts.)

5) Have you ever woke up during the night or the wee hours of the morning and wrote down an idea? If so, did you develop it into a story? Can't say as I have.

My 5...

) Who is your favorite television actor/actress? Hmm...I would have to say Bugs Bunny.

2) What items are attached to your computer’s monitor (home or work or both)? Nada darn thing.

3) When did you get your first automobile? When I was 17, my dad picked me up from school in a 1982 brown Buick Skylark. I asked him, "whose ugly car is this?" and he said, "It was going to be yours, but if it's too ugly..." All of a sudden, it started looking much better.

4) How is your life different today than a decade ago? It would take less time to answer how is my life the same as a decade ago. Ten years ago I was in college, pledging a sorority, and having way too much fun. Now, my idea of fun is spending time with my daughters.

5) Have you ever woke up during the night or the wee hours of the morning and wrote down an idea? If so, did you develop it into a story? Yes. One time I had an idea and I couldn't go back to sleep. I ended up grabbing paper and pen and spent an hour and a half sitting on the bathroom floor writing. It never got completed. I still think about that one every now and then though. That was one of those time I wished I had a voice recorder. Does anyone else think it would be easier, if you had an idea you wanted to get down real quick, to just say it into a recorder and write it out later?

Here's mine (m)

1) Who is your favorite television actor/actress?

It’s a tie between Kelsey Grammer from Frazier and Wendie Malick who plays Nina on Just Shoot Me.

2) What items are attached to your computer’s monitor (home or work or both)?

At work, I have a little calendar, my Fed Ex account #, an appt card for the Chiropractor and a fortune from a cookie.

3) When did you get your first automobile?

When I turned 16, my stepdad and me went to the auto auction and I bought a 1960 Volkswagen Bug for $400. After a cheap paint job and a new engine, I had a pretty nice car. I also stuck stickers on the back that read, “I love men” and “A friend with weed is a friend indeed.” Which answers my next question-LOL.

4) How is your life different today than a decade ago?

It has changed so much for the better it’s hard to know where to begin. But I’m happier and healthier and wouldn’t ever go back.

5) Have you ever woke up during the night or the wee hours of the morning and wrote down an idea? If so, did you develop it into a story?

Yes, the most recent one was a story I did for the writing class board. http://boards1.ivillage.com/messages/get/bcafter55/40.html

Talking about your 3 cyclinder car (m)

reminded me of a car I owned one time. I'm embarrassed to say I was one of those fools in America that bought a YUGO. While I was only 19 years old and it was the only new car I could afford.

Thanks for the laugh!

Isn't it amazing how our lives (m)

can change so much and we're happy with the results? I'm not a housewife or mother but I could relate to what you're saying. When I was younger, I wanted to move to NY and be an artist. Now I live a very rural area and haven't painted in years and I love it.

Yes, I think so too (m)

I used to keep one beside my bed because I liked to keep track of my dreams. By the time I got around to writing it down, I'd already forgotten some of the details. I think a tape recorder would work great for story ideas.

That would make a good story (m)

You need to develop the idea about a wife killing her husband because of his shoring. And here's a idea. After she kills him, someone can suggest some BreatheRites. LOL
