You are not alone

If you are lurking, or a regular member, here, I wanted to share this thought today.
"You are not alone."
When I was new to recovery and struggling in early sobriety, I heard those words - really heard them - for the first time. During my years of drinking I felt that I was the only person in the world who felt like I did. I could be in a crowd of people and still feel horribly, miserably alone. When I met people who suffered from alcoholism, and were sober and happy, I wanted what they had. They told me that once they too had suffered from incredible lonliness and isolation, but that their lives had gotten better,
In time, I learned to open up to others, to share my emotional pain, and to be able to receive the words of encouragement that still ring true for me today.
If you are out there, alone and suffering, this is a safe place to come and begin your journey of recovery.
You are not alone and you never have to be alone again.
