Sue, this is a horrible case.. those poor kids. From the Article:

In the world of the FLDS, "spiritual marriage" between older men and underage girls -- what the law defines as rape -- is given the stamp of religious approval

There is a show on HBO called Big Love. The show is a little extreme but those in the sect have their hands in everything to include politics. What if this is what happened here?? I can see no reason why the children should have been returned. They needed to do DNA testing to determine who each child belonged to so that legal action could be taken(on the pedophilia). Also, a lot of these women are on welfare so determining paternity would allow the state to go after the father of each child.

Well, ladies...I hate to disagree ;)

But according to the way the law is written, CYS did NOT have substantial evidence (legally speaking) to remove the children from their parents. Now, I personally LIKE the idea of requiring agencies to actually follow the law before they go pulling kids out of their homes. It may be irritating in a case such as this, to have them you know, follow the law...but in the case of a wrongful accusation, I'd be much happier knowing a family wasn't torn apart based on less than substantial evidence!
