I've read there's plenty of oil, but "someone(thing)" is putting a limit on the use. Then I hear there's a shortage. Which is it?! Does anyone really know? Or does it really depend on who you're listening to?
DH thinks that if congress(?) decides it's ok to drill offshore/ANWR/etc...that the SECOND they say ok, gas prices will drop... Thoughts? It makes sense to me, but I know there's other opinions out there I'd like to hear.
Also, I keep hearing this thing about it's gonna take YEARS if we ever do start drilling here to reap the benefits, right? Well, didn't this come up about 10 years ago? Wouldn't we be better off NOW if it had been allowed THEN?!
When gas prices started going up, it was about the time Katrina hit and wiped out some tankers(or something?) off the gulf down there, right? Slowly but surely it has more than doubled since then, and blame is being put on the war in Iraq, Bush, and so on and so forth.
GAH! It's so confusing. I don't see this puzzle being solved soon, if ever. :(
Oh, and have I read or heard that maybe OPEC is at the center of the gas prices? By playing w/ the supply/demand? Wouldn't surprise me I guess.....but who knows really.
This is why we should have been thinking ahead 20 plus years ago. But we've had OIL MEN presidents. what do you expect? Maybe Automobile companies need to get busy making more and more hybrids.

I am not sure how drilling in new areas will bring the price of gas down.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
