I lived by Mexico for years. Some of the people that came to AZ seem to come their just to break the law (of course some wanted to make a living). There were several illegals that lived across the street from FIL and they would drive through my FIL's yard and often broke into his house. I've been to Mexico only once and had a decent time.
How about because nearly all industrialized countries have their borders secured. Have you ever traveled abroad and been allowed carte blanche entry to a foreign country?
Not sure what you mean by "Carte Blanche". But I have entered several countries without having to provide any identification whatsoever.
Is that your reason for wanting secure borders because you believe everyone else does it?
carte blanche
NOUN:
Unrestricted power to act at one's own discretion; unconditional authority.
" But I have entered several countries without having to provide any identification whatsoever."
Really!? Which ones, I'm genuinely curious! I'm not a world-wide traveler but I've most certainly had to show documentation to get into the other countries I have visited, and I KNOW that they would not allow me to live there undocumented.

Living in a foreign country is very different. You are changing the debate with that addition.
You asked if I ever crossed a border "carte blanche", which I took to mean, without having to provide documentation. I have entered several countries in Europe both before and after the formation of the EU without having to surrender documents are passing an official check point. I have crossed the border to Canada freely without crossing a check point, however I realize that that is not the case anymore.

I am? I thought the topic was illegal immigration and border control? Typically when one "immigrates" it means they are living in the new country.

I'm curious...if those other countries didn't know you were there visiting...how would they know if you were there *living* ??
