As much as I'd like to see offshore drilling here, and elsewhere in the states, I don't think lifting a ban is going to do a bit of good.

Doesn't it take 25 years to get a permit from the govt. to even begin drilling?! (something I just heard and haven't researched...) If so, maybe THAT is something that needs to be changed.

Otherwise, what's the point??

I want to pose the questions:

>>to be able to say he did something to help lower gas prices without having to actually do anything effective<<

I think that's it in a nutshell.

"Call me a cynic, but I expect we'll see a temporary dip in gas prices mid Sept. that will last thru the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November."

I'm actually right there with you.

Now you know it will come down, until they use up the "Summer" gas. then when they put that dang Winter additive in it, it will go up again, and you'll get a reduction in your gas mileage.

Well, it's hard to be both an idiot and an evil genius without help.
