You took it the wrong way. I was saying it at face value. I think anybody who has family and loved ones serving need to be complimented. I wish all of our troops could have come home. I wish nobody had to have their dreams shattered. And NO, no one's life is more important than the others. I wasn't saying that in the least.
Sorry, I am a little touchy about this (can you tell-lol). I was mad when I first heard about it. The Army isn't letting anyone out of their contracts (unless there are extreme cirumtances) so I was mad that he was "special".
I understand, I'd be touchy also. It truly gauls me that Cheney could flunk out of college several times because he wanted to "party" too much. Then when he knew he could be drafted, he buckled down and got several student deferrments, then he gets married. He had "other priorities"than to go fight in Viet Nam. It wouldn't bee so bad if it wasn't HE who wanted the war in Iraq so bad he could taste it, and taste the money he could get from Halliburton.
I think it's wonderful that there are people like your Dh who weren't afraid to serve their country, but i find Cheney to be truly despicable.
There are several people who have fight for us to fight in this "war" that fought to keep themselves out of war zones. It sickens me but I so believe it will come back to haunt them.
