Because most of the media IS liberal.
And yes, I completely believe the liberal leans more to the left.
I think, as with many professions, it's a question of self-selection.
Those with "right wing" tendencies tend to more often be drawn to jobs/professions where they can make "good money" - they go to business school, law school, etc.

I agree that liberals lean to the left.
Well crap - what a typo!
What I MEANT to say.............."YES, I DO believe MEDIA leans to the left"
Because they have no problem reporting the negatives of the right, but very few of the left. Left is great, the left is doing this, the left is doing that Yea for the left!!... (how much coverage did CNN do on Nancy Pelosi when she sent everyone home for a month long vacation while the right was trying to vote on something major? - I believe I saw it on Fox... yes, yes, the RIGHT leaning news media)... they (media) jumped all over Palin for what feminists have been working towards for years (equality, isn't it?) while some of the reporters on the leftist media are mothers themselves, some of young children - yet Palin is wrong and the liberal reporters are okay to be doing the exact same thing... How many have reported who Obama is friends with?
Both sides have positives and negatives... it would be nice if the media would just be a bit more balanced in their reporting and not pushing what seems to be their personal agendas... I don't care if a reporter is liberal, not my problem until they only focus on the good of the left while leaving out what they have done that isn't in the best interest of the people while only reporting on what the right has done that isn't in the best interest of the people and none, or little, of the positive.
I've all but blocked out the CNN networks... I kinda like the way Glenn Beck shows on HLN a bit more of both sides instead of only focusing on his personal beliefs all the time.
Thanks for giving your opinion. That's an interesting observation and more the answer I was looking for. But what about those in those in the media who are making lots of money, don't you think that they would be leary of Obama rather than supporting him? And what about those in Hollywood, why do you think that more celebrities (though certainly not all) tend to be lean left?

>Those with "right wing" tendencies tend to more often be drawn to jobs/professions where they can make "good money" - they go to business school, law school, etc. Those with more "left wing" tendencies are interested in "making a difference", and tend to gravitate to professions where they believe they can make a difference - teaching, social work, journalism, etc.<
I tend to go with the philosophy of "give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime"... to me, helping someone doesn't mean doing it all for them - it means giving them options and showing them how to pull themselves up by the bootstraps... and THAT does make a difference, at least to those who try to pull themselves up themselves.
No, because of two, perhaps three, factors:
1)
> And what about those in Hollywood, why do you think that more celebrities (though certainly not all) tend to be lean left?<
Who knows why they lean left... all I know is that they use their job as a way to get up on their soapboxes... I think Hollywood should stick to their acting careers (have you heard what some of them actually say? - Matt Damon comes to mind as one of the more recent ones who made little sense to me with regards to Palin (even though he had decided to back Obama long ago before Palin was even on the scene)... I really don't care about who an actor is voting for... who my favorite actor is voting for will not sway my vote one way or the other and I just wish they would all shut up sometimes (not that I would want to impose that... but I can wish it... I may not agree with what they say, but they do have a right to say it... even if I am wishing they'd zip it)
