I certainly don't think that it is in the best interest of this fine country if McCain wins this election, irrespective of his running mate. That being said, I *WISH* he had chosen someone a little less terrifying. I *WISH* this were all a joke and the entire country has been on Candid Camera, so to speak.
The truth is, regardless of the fact that I believe McCain is the wrong choice for our next president, he may well become just that given the voting record of our country. Adding to the drama is the fact that he is really quite old. People that age die at a much higher rate than people Obama's age. That's just a statistical fact. Include in that the stress and pressure of being leader of the America at such a crazy time in history with the financial crisis, the rest of the world basically despising us, and the war on terror - it could definitely speed up the aging process. Palin might just spend some time as our president. It could happen.
Regardless of how "scary" you may find Obama for whatever reason you have, I think that it is also necessary to look at the person you will be putting "a heartbeat away" from the Oval Office. She's in way over her head and it shows.
You do bring up a good point. If you look at the past Presidents before they enter office they age very fast because of all the stress. Will McCain be able to handle that?
Palin scares me even more than McCain. Her voice grates on my nerves! I know she cannot help how she sounds, but Oye Vey! It's hard to take her seriously when her voice sounds like she should be head cheer leader captain!
I seriously doubt it, but I am anxiously awaiting the day the "gloves come off" so to speak. I think everyone is smart enough to know that she has been instructed on what she can and cannot say. The press and the democrats are having a field day with her right now. If and when we see the real Sarah in this campaign, I think that opinions will change. I'm anxious to see the debate. I honestly have no idea how it will turn out. She has two opponents in this debate, Biden and the Press. It should be interesting.
But who is the "real Sarah"? and why keep her so tightly controlled if she is such an asset in more than just gender and socially conservative domestic issues? if she is that great for this country, then the voters have the right to hear her.

I wish, but no.
