If you don't like the way your Congressional representative voted, call them tomorrow and tell them you won't re-elect them. EVERY member of the House is up for re-election.
I called my representatives last week and the staff all told me that it is UNPRECEDENTED the number of calls and emails they are receiving about this bailout. I was told that 98% of the responses have been DON'T VOTE YES for this legislation (I'm in MO). I was also told NOT to bother calling because the voicemail boxes are full within 10 minutes of close of business and email boxes and servers are overloaded from email responses.
Take a few minutes and speak. They are supposed to vote what WE want, not what THEY think is best for us. I am SO angry that 2 congressmen (whose staffers told me that over 90% of the calls were calling for a NO vote) voted YES. This amounts to taxation without representation if they know what we want and vote with their own personal interests anyway. We don't elect them to substitute their judgment--especially when they hear from 3000 constituents a day for 2 weeks and nearly ALL of them are begging for a NO vote and they throw a YES anyway.
I'm angry...if you are, speak up! That's how it's designed!
