I am beside myself with anger over the statement Obama made about treatable illnesses!

Do you have a link for that quote?
As we speak my DS is wheezing due to asthma. He is 16 months and it breaks my heart. He was diagnosed with asthma at 6 months old. However, I now know through doing…as well as guidance from our Ped and a great pulmonary Dr at JHU that prevention and regimen IS the key to managing asthma. YES, I want my child to get care should I have to go to the ER and he definitely would; YET it is my responsibility to stay on top of my child's asthma so that we don't have to visit the ER. When I read what you pasted I get this... if my child has healthcare = see doctors as he should = take the meds that he should (it may take a few tries to get the right 'mix') that my child SHOULD not be frequently admitted to the ER possibly in a bed for someone with an issue that preventive medicince may not have helped (car accident.) He did not say that your loved one would be turned away. It is the hope that if the person has healthcare then he/she would have asthma managed thus not in the ER. Now all cases are not the same and some may have asthma worse than others, but I understand what the Senator is getting at…
Here is another quote (possibly with the help of a teleprompter, but COME ON! THEY ALL (Obama & McCain) have tripped over their tongue.)
Sadly this is just another pointer to his disregard for human life and the ordinary person with whom he is totally out of touch or has some drastic plans the unwell will not like.
First he refuses to vote for the ban on partial birth abortion.
I think you are taking this quotation out of context. I have not seen the quotation in context, but if you have a link I'd love to read the full interview. Without seeing the rest of the discussion, here is what I think he's trying to say:
Basically, most forms of asthma are treatable with inhalers and other medications. If people had access to these medications, in general, they would be less likely to end up in the hospital due to their asthma. I think his point is that if you give people preventative treatment, you won't have them filling up beds in the emergency room. I don't think he's saying that if you have asthma and have an attack you should be turned away from the hospital. That's just absurd. He's saying that if those people had proper medical care from the start they *probably* would never end up in the hospital in the 1st place. Personally, if I had asthma, I would prefer to have access to medication and preventative medical care so that I would not be in the position of having to go to the emergency room every time I had an asthma attack. I think that is all he is saying.
For the record - I hate it when quotations (from either side) are taken out of context like this and used to manipulate people's emotions. It's just ridiculous and it lowers the bar for intelligent discourse about the issues. Anytime you see a random quotation from a person that really upsets you - try to find the context in which that statement was made. You may very well still be really upset by the comment, but often, once put in a broader context, you will see that it's not such an inflammatory statement after all. This is the danger of sound bytes in general. Don't let yourselves be manipulated!

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
"Add to all that his crew and supporters vicious attack on poor old Joe the Plumber whose only mistake was catching Obama off guard with his question and getting Obama to put his foot in his mouth about his plans to "redistribute" the wealth.
ITA - I believe this was taken completely out of context.

I often ask myself, does it really matter? I would not liked to be looked down upon if for whatever reason my husband and I decided that only he would travel to visit with an ill relative. Does that tell anyone anything about my character? NOPE. I am sure his grandmother knows how Mrs. Obama feels about her, not being physically there will not make her healthier or imply that she doesn't care.
We are harder on other's though…
