With just a week to go, many will say the national election is buttoned up.

our local race for U.S. rep is nasty but i haven't seen any predictions. we also have a confusing gambling issue up for grabs.

Here the hot issue is proposition 8, which would remove the right of same sex couples to marry.

Yep, Prop 8, plus in our municipality, there is ANOTHER school bond measure on the ballot.

yes, the "pro-life" folks are at it again in Colorado, wanting to pass an amendment that defines a person from the moment of fertilization.

Truly frightening. How is that even legal? Wow....the mind boggles. I hope for the sake of all women that it does not pass.

This is Massachusetts - we don't have contested elections, other than the democratic primary.

On the other hand we have three ballot questions -

Q1 - Repeal the state income tax

Q2 - Decriminalize marijauana

Q3 - Ban dog racing

Right now it looks like Q2 might pass, but 1 & 3 will probably lose.

Personally, I support 1 & 2

I generally consider myself "moderately pro-life", and even I find this proposition bizarre
