I keep hearing how these candidates want to help the economy yet it seems to me that in this election they're just helping the media live in luxury with their advertising payments. Now why couldn't the media just report the facts and let these politicians spend all this money to help our economy where it's really needed? If they can raise this amount of money, then if the entire country pulled together we could make an impact in our nation's debt and help the needy.
I get really tired of hearing about how multi-million dollar companies are 'suffering'. Stop buying yachts and mansions. Those are NOT necessities.
I mean really! Wake up Americans! How ridiculous to send all your money to politicians who spend YOUR money so extravagantly. If I had sent in money to Obama and saw that $3 Million 30 minute infomercial I would have been steaming over that. And Palin with $150,000 in CLOTHING??
If these guys/gals think they really are the answer to our nations problems then why not just let your actions speak for themselves instead of using all this money to create ads that attack each other?
How dare we think that they can help the national debt and boost our economy when they spend our money like this?
If the media would just report the truth, all the truth, then all candidates would have equal opportunity to be heard. I'm just as upset with the media as I am with these politicians. Don't we live in a country that provides EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT? Is not the election a sort of application process for employment as the President? Why do those with more money get more access to the application process? How is that equal?
Yet we have candidates that are using word of mouth and the internet as their campaign. Saving us MILLIONS of dollars.
Our system is absolutely ridiculous!

Then I guess it's a good thing that you have not donated money to these campagins. I personally am not at all offended with how Sen. Obama has spent my campaign donations. I trust him and I trust that he will spend any of my donations in a way that will help get him elected, which is why I donated it in the first place. I look at it is an investment in my health care plan and my son's education. In other words, it's a gamble I am willing to take. If anyone else is not willing to risk that, they simply should not send in money.
yes i would rather see the money used for something else but ...
to regulate it would be socialistic. the seemingly useless spending is how our capitalistic system works, the amount Obama raised is a testament to his popularity, and he should spend it how he sees fit - with the hope that it trickles down in the form of employment to somebody somewhere.
