It's probably a stupid question, but how can they call the polls in Kentucky as closed? My mom and sister are standing in line right now to vote in Western Kentucky.

Our news just says they are closed in "parts" of Kentucky, ie. not the entire state.

I know that here in NJ the polls closed at 8pm but anyone who was in line by then will be allowed to vote. So even though the polls are technically closed, all the votes haven't been cast yet.

That's what I was trying to tell my sister but now she feels like her vote doesn't count. LOL
