Nancy Reagan Joke

President elect Obama made a joke when asked about former presidents he's consulted with. I don't have a link but he did refer to Nancy Reagan holding 'seances'. As an Obama supporter I have to say I'm disappointed this was a bad gaffe and a bad joke one that he can't afford just starting out.I think he learned from this and I'm glad he did call and apologize. All jokes aside Mr. President Elect let's get this country moving again.

There ya go!

I love my TaterTod!!
i thought the situation was pretty awkward. as soon as he said "all of them" i really wanted him to clarify and mention names for two reasons. 1-his answer reminded me too much of palin's answer regarding newspapers 'all of the ones put in front of me' and 2- i felt like it would open to the door to speculate that he was some sort of ghost hunter or something just to create drama.
i was glad to hear he called her the same day to apologize.
It's a known fact that Nancy Reagan relied on an astrologist - for years. ESP, seance, astrology, mindreading, I have to confess I lump them in together as sorta wacky. As far as mistakes go this one doesn't phase me much.
OTOH, the double standard that some conservatives have. To them it's obnoxious to call Nancy's shananigans a "seance" but then they turn around and say Hilary has "seances". In fact she didn't. And unlike Reagan she doesn't rely on mystical stuff like astrology! Go figure?! {{shrug}}
I heard him make this joke and I didn't think anything of it until the media started making a big deal about it. I'm glad that he apologized, but I really don't think what he said was any big deal.

Sadly the thing that isn't a joke is that we had a First Lady who consulted an Astrologer while in the White House.
Maybe she draws the pseudoscience line so that it includes astrology but excludes seances?
