It hasn't been a week yet since Obama became the President-elect, but I'm already hearing, and seeing

I find the siggy cute, tolerable, and negative. They're a relatively acceptable way to vent, IMO.

OTOH I find comments about "when are the Obama voters going to begin to see the light and regret their choice" to be eye rollingly obnoxious.

Yeah I agree some of them are just ways to vent. Which is understandable.

Well the thing I find MOST ironic is that for the last 8 years I've been hearing from the republicans in my family how Bush is our President and I *must* show him respect and stand behind him... how WRONG it is to berate the President or demean the office. How horrible I am because of my dislike of Bush and what a bad American I am.

Funny, now that Obama has won that all seems to have gone completely out the window. They are all ALREADY berating the President and waiting for him to fail and he hasn't even taken office yet!

He did not reverse the gains made in mental health. I would have expected him to decrease funding for SAMHSA and NIMH etc to former levels, he did not.

He actually recently signed a bill expanding the American's with Disabilities Act. The sky was falling on Wall Street, so it went largely unnoticed.

I actually strongly supported the President on immigration reform, though he couldn't push that through.

I've paid fewer taxes under him and was very thankful that my dh and I are recieving more loan money each term because he increased education funding by $2k for each student - I only paid $500 out of pocket vs $2500 last term, which for me is a huge deal! :)
