TINY TUESDAY (m)

Being that it’s Elvis Presley’s birthday, let’s include him in this week’s Tiny Tuesday. Write a scene or short story that has something to do with Elvis. Feel free to use one of his songs, an Elvis look-a-like or use the real thing: the King himself.

Have fun,

Mac

Oh, I want to go to the British Isles...(m)

Sounds like you have been there? Very visual, and interesting. Clever work blending Elvis into the Morris celebration!

Thanks for sharing. kat

Great story (m)

I love this story, all the action and reactions.I've never ridden in a taxi before but I have heard the stories.LOL

I'm curious, where you write a very red light,is that more red, than an obvious red light, or just a red light? LOL

Great job!

THAT'S the name I couldn't remember. I remember seeing it on a postcard over there. It had a little cartoon dragon, and the name must've circled it about 3 times.

Originally I was going to put in a group of Morris dancers with big black pompadours. Or have one of the folk songs sound suspiciously like Hunka Hunka Burning Love. But the word limit (mercifully) cut me off.

Yep, I've been there. And I'd love to go back for a visit. I did one of those junior year abroad programs during college, and I found myself with about a month off between school sessions. So I got myself a sturdy backpack and headed off. (Did the same thing in Europe during the second school intermission. That was a lot of fun, too.)

And I've, um, done a bit of unofficial Morris dancing. A small group of dancers were performing in the town square once when I was "volunteered" for the last part of a dance. So I'm an unofficial member of the Kentish Blackfaces (at least I think that's what their name was...hard to remember due to the trauma).

Thanks gals...

a very red light, lol, is a red light that's been red for so long that the other direction of traffic has started to go. I cringed to use the word "very" and I'd delete the word in a rewrite.

This story is pure fiction, as I have not ever had a chatty cabdriver. Most sit in stony silence, except for contacting their dispatcher. The mono-eyebrow, however, is fact :)

Thanks for reviewing and have a great day, Eyewrite

Thank you, Kat (m)

I hope 2002 is filled with blessings for you too!

I guess we should be thankful for those “inner-child friends” sometimes, they come up with the story ideas, huh? But I’m like you though; I have this one Irishman that drives me nutty sometimes. Yet I won’t tell him to get lost because I like him too much.
