Five for me...
I need to tune up my muscles. Of course the next question doesn't help with my tune up!!!!!
Today I could go for a Baby Ruth or a Heath Bar, but I haven't been eating candy bars for months now.
I guess the only person I have mooned has been my husband. And I haven't used a fake id either ---how boring am I?
I read Anne Lamont's Bird by Bird and recommend it highly. Before that I read Natalie Goldberg's Writing Down the Bones and also suggest that. I am still reading Ursula K. LeGuin's Steering the Craft and I like it so far too.
True Confessions!
1) Is there anything about you that needs a “tune-up”?
Sentence structure 101
2) What’s your favorite candy bar?
Dark Chocolate Dove Bites
3) Have you ever “mooned” anyone or been mooned?
Yes, in high school from the back of our bus...short pleated cheerleading skirt, easy access!
4) When you were younger, did you ever use a fake I.D.?
Crap, can you still get busted NOW if you confess?!!
5) What is the most recent book you read about writing?
The Writer's Home Companion. Given to me for Christmas by my favorite 8 yr. old niece. She wants to be a writer, a World Renowned Flutist, Elite Force in the Army, drive large machinery, and a professional dancer...what a mixed bag...but that's what makes her sooo cool.
High Five!
1) Is there anything about you that needs a “tune-up
Hair, procrastination, cravings (see 2 below)
2) What’s your favorite candy bar?
Currently the new Aero. Actually it may not be new, just a new wrapper. See? They've got me figured out.
3) Have you ever “mooned†anyone or been mooned?
Oh ho, yes indeedy. Must be those teenage hormones.
4) When you were younger, did you ever use a fake I.D.?
Alas, no. Waited till I was of age. Course the legal age in Canada is 19...
5) What is the most recent book you read about writing?
Reread Stephen King's On Writing - to find his quote on how many pages a day he does, every day. It's 10. It may take him two hours or eight or more, but he does 10 pages a day, firs thing, before errands, etc. Priorities..., hmm, should add to number 1 above :)
OH, OH!!....
Eyewrite, do you live in Canada? My son played Tier 1--AAA ice hockey and we would travel to BC once a month. My son also attended camps in Kelowna. My hubby and I would give ANYTHING to live in Canada. We simply love it there, and all of you are ESPECIALLY nice, and wonderful...even if we are Yanks.
It is terrible, but when I go to Canada, I start talking with an accent. All the Canadian parents would laugh at me. We got to know many well, and now that my kiddo dosen't play anymore, I miss going there, and the people. We played many tournaments on the Island in Duncan, and Nanimo. My heart aches just writing about it.
Also, and lastly, I'll quit gushing all over you, my favorite writer is Alice Munro. I want her to adopt me...I'm pitiful, I know.
Tootles! Kat
My five (m)
1)What part of me needs a tune-up? The list is long so for now I'll just say my memory.
2)My favorite candy bar is Snickers
3) Have I been mooned or moon anyone? No mooning but I once went streaking LOL
4)A fake ID? Is that a plastic card with someone else's birthday on so one can get into a club, and back in my day we didn't have photos on them? Hmmmm!!!!
5)I read Stephen Kings book On Writing
Yup!
Mac caught me using the Canadian spelling grey just this week ;)
I've just started Alice Munro's new book "Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage". She's amazing. Did you read her daughter Sheila's book "Lives of Mothers and Daughters"?
Have a good weekend, eh?
Eyewrite
Friday Five
1) Is there anything about you that needs a “tune-up”? My belly, no question. Still haven't recovered from my pregnancy (even though the baby is 18 months old!)
2) What’s your favorite candy bar? Mmmmm, Hershey's almonds.
3) Have you ever “mooned” anyone or been mooned? Not really, but I have witnessed the traditional University of Michigan "nude mile," in which hundreds of students celebrate the last day of class by taking off all their clothes (except their tennis shoes), and at the stroke of midnight run through the middle of campus.
4) When you were younger, did you ever use a fake I.D.? Hah! I looked so young that after I turned 21, my LEGAL ID was always questioned.
5) What is the most recent book you read about writing? A book I picked up in the bargain bin at Barnes & Noble, can't remember the name. It had some good suggestions for coming up with ideas.
Is there much jiggling...
on the nude mile? I've run to catch a bus wearing a non-sports bra and my-oh-my, I could never run topless!
My Five (m)
1) Is there anything about you that needs a “tune-up”?
My hair is in desperate need of improvement. I go through these stages where I let it grow out and then cut it off and then let it grow. Right now, it’s too long--for me--but I can’t find a hairstyle I like.
2) What’s your favorite candy bar?
I’d kill for a Heath bar. Basically, I love toffee of any kind. I think Godiva is really good but not as convenient as picking up a bar at the Stop-n-Go.
3) Have you ever “mooned” anyone or been mooned?
One time, my husband and his friend thought it’d be funny to moon his friend’s girlfriend and me. Well, my husband barely revealed his behind but his friend--who was somewhat intoxicated--didn’t realize how far he pulled his pants down. Needless to say, I will never forget the site of his…let me remember how Elailah put it the other night in our chat…his wedding tuxedo (I think that was it) pressed against the sliding glass doors.
4) When you were younger, did you ever use a fake I.D.?
I confess, I broke the law. My sister said she’d lost her driver’s license so I could use her old one as a fake I.D.
5) What is the most recent book you read about writing?
Writing From The Heart: Tapping the Power of Your Inner Voice by Nancy Slonim Aronie was the last one I read completely. I started reading Chicken Soul for the Writer’s Soul but haven't finished it.
Moon over Republican River...(m)
1) Is there anything about you that needs a “tune-up My body and my mind-set regarding the shape of my body.
2) What’s your favorite candy bar? Hershey's with almonds
3) Have you ever “mooned†anyone or been mooned? My sisters and I were mooned by a very nice looking young man when we were teenagers riding around in our little gold Volkswagen.
4) When you were younger, did you ever use a fake I.D.? No, when I was 18, Kansas had 3-2 beer for eighteen year olds, (we lived just miles from the Kansas/Nebr. border) and when I was 19, Nebraska lowered their drinking age to 19 that year. (Since then, Nebr. has changed it back to 21.)
5) What is the most recent book you read about writing? Stephen King's "On Writing."
