Things I learned in kindergarten...share everything, play fair, don't hit people...
1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it?
The Pacific as seen from the Olympic Peninsula. Use to visit once a year, but haven't been there in two.
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out?
Never been a pack rat, but the hubby has a pair of sweats that REALLY need to die!!
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery?
NO, too much turmoil. Most folks pass on with unfinished business. Can't stand the bickering.
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen?
Is that on the table with or without Lamp Shade???
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share?
I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief And "I" believe that love is stronger than death. --Robert Fulghum (All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.)

1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it?
Caribbean sea, been twice, to the bahamas & cancun
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out?
a yucky old bathmat
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery?
Yes, I have. Had a scavenger hunt in a cemetary for a halloween party a few years back, was frighteningly fun!
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen?
hopefully somewhere in between, say chatting with a friend?
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share?
Just one?
Barbara Kingsolver: (paraphrase, can't recall exact quote) - "Write with the door closed and no one reading over your shoulder. Give up trying to figure out what the market wants and figure out what you want to say. It's the one thing you have control over."
"I'm writing a book. I've got the page numbers done." ~Stephen Wright *grin*

1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it?
The Atlantic - every year. But I hope someday to take a Mediterranean cruise.
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out?
Only one? Well, let me see... a large garbage bag of children's clothing have been in the bottom of my closet for three months waiting for someone from the local battered women's shelther to come pick it up. (The shelter operates a thrift shop).
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery?
Only if I'm paid lots of money.
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen?
None of the above. I'm generally engrossed in coversation with somebody (or -bodies) about the latest political scandal.
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share?
My favorite quote is:
"If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write things worth reading or do things worth writing."
-- Benjamin Franklin

1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it? The Atlantic, I guess, having lived on both sides of it, but I visit it very infrequently. After all, it's not going anywhere. It's there.
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out? Other than my husband? riotous laughter. Nearly everything in my house is junk, it's difficult to say which should go first.
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery? Not until I'm dead. Then I won't have a choice.
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen? Well, a sort of combo--dancing alone on the kitchen counter
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share? My all time favorite, and if anyone can identify this, please let me know; it's not Voltaire, but it is a French writer: Writing is like prostitution: first you do it for pleasure, then for friends, and then for money. And my other one is stolen from Nike: Just do it.

1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it?
The Gulf of Mexico because of its beautiful white sand and emerald water. We try to go once a year.
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out?
The recliner--we need a new one badly. With four pets, you can imagine the hair that has accumulated on that thing.
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery?
Yes, I’d love to as long as I had at least one other person with me. Say for instance, Stephen King. Would that be a trip???
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen?
I’m sure I’d be in the corner enjoying a one on one conversation with somebody.
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share?
Not sure it’s my favorite, but I like it. In Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg, she said, “I am free to write the worst junk in the world.”
Definitely with a lamp shade, kat!!! (nt)
Loved the Stephen Wright quote!!! (nt)
Mediterranean cruise...can we tag along??? (nt)
Friday Five Answers
1) Which ocean is your favorite and how often do you visit it?
My favorite is the Atlantic - off the coast of Southern Georgia (where the islands are), feels like the Caribbean. Haven't been there for 10 years though
2) What is one thing in your house that needs to be thrown out?
Other than my 17 year old (just kidding, honest!), probably half of the stuff in my closets. I used to be a non-saver but somehow a bunch of non-essential crud has made it into the closets and drawers of the house. How it got there is a complete mystery to me.
3) Would you ever spend the night in a cemetery?
I wouldn't really have a problem with this, as long as I could take along a good book to read I'd sleep like a baby.
4) At a party, would you be alone in the corner, dancing on the table or cleaning up the kitchen?
I'd probably be cleaning up in the kitchen... not that I'm a neat freak (as you know from my answer to #2 above), but I've learned it's much easier to clean as you go. And besides, if I didn't get the stuff picked up right away, it might crawl into my closet to join the rest of the mess there! =)
5) This week Patty (Mediamom) gave us some excellent writer quotes, do you have one you'd like to share?
This really was a timely question, because my Mom called me this morning to share this quote with me...
"I don't really like these stories; I guess we'll have to write some of our own." C.S. Lewis to J.R.R. Tolkien
Loved the answer to the "party question" - ROFL (nt)
