I abhore gossip, so this piece was tough for me...


instead I gave the town members something to gossip about...never was good at obeying the rules.

to catch "busy eyebrows"- LOL. I meant bushy. I let my husband read this (of course, the ex-school teacher caught my typo) but anyway he did this busy eyebrow impersonation that had me cracking up.

Great details, eyewrite (m)


You had so many terrific details in this piece, i.e. diesel-smelling parka, thermos of Ovaltine, and nine teaspoons of brown sugar. I also loved the line, “the manager’s pretty cheerful these days.” LOL. I bet he is.

The ending was a hoot, and that's hilarious about them being buried together. I agree with Patty you have a way with the names. My favorite was the Dry As Dust Tackle and Bait.

I really enjoyed reading your story and I think you have a terrific story, Kat.
