Oh gee where to start. It has been quite some time since I posted on here. I lurk nearly weekly but I sad to say hard to find time to post. This week I am on vacation so I am making time.

Jimmy turns 17 on the 29th. DH got him a cheap car that needed parts and Jimmy's peer had one down the alley from us that had everything Jimmy's car needed for only $20. DH almost has the car ready to go. Jimmy most likely will be turned loose with his car by his birthday. Now he has taken my Vibe to and from Youth Group and to various places so it isn't like he was not turned loose before. Needless to say Jimmy is sooooooo excited. He wants to get out there and put in applications and possibly work the summer.

Now for school-attended his IEP and we are going to keep in his accomodations. He has not been using them and the work he has been doing is all him and he is getting a B average. He is reading at a 12th grade level at the end of 10th grade. The only subject he is having difficutly is math at this time he is doing 7th grade math and the IEP is goal is that he is doing 8th grade by the end of next year. He will be out in regular classes for all of his classes next year. He is much more comfortable with the school and socializes more.

My boy has blossomed so much it is a thrill to see.

Don't forget Kyle now....he turns 13 the 2nd of June. Oh my 2 teenagers in house soon.

how exciting and yet scary at the same time! what an accomplishment for Jimmy to be able to handle his own car and maybe even have a job! Way to go on the grades and being able to handle regular classes all on his own! how exciting! what a wonderful feeling to see your children start to fly!

Hi mamabear, I remember you. I remember when Jimmy started driving & got his license. I'm glad he is doing well! My NT 16 yr. old has her permit & I'm a nervous wreck when I go driving w/her. Regarding our AS kids, it does seem to get a litle better as they get older. It's nice to see what our kiddos can accomplish. My AS dd is now 12 & she has a hard time w/ math also. She is attending summer school AGAIN this yr. because of a D! Hope Jimmy can find a job & continues to function well in this crazy world of ours... Take Care, Mary Ann
