When going for a second opinion...

We will be bringing our ds/15 to another doctor for a second opinion. This is also a doctor of Psychiatry and Neurology. Should I be bringing with the files from the current doctor?

My thought is that I don't want the new doctor to be swayed by what our current doctor has written in the charts. Does that make sense? Or would I be wise to get the new doctor a copy of the files?

hi laura,

i agree with you, if i was going for a second opinion--i wouldn't give the copies right away. i would wait until he tells you what he thinks, and then maybe give him a copy.

Valerie ~ Thanks for your thoughts. That's what I'm going to do. If we decide we like this other doctor and have faith in what he says, then I'll have the files transferred.
