As part of getting ready to graduate grade school, the entire 5th grade today put on a production all about american history. THey did great!
Cait had a speaking part and was wonderful. Her grandma noticed she didn't smile, but heck as far as I am concerned, none of the kids did really. She was nice and loud and clear. Clearer than most of the kids.
Then she tried out for and was in the girls choir part of the show. She was so proud. There were only about 8 girls in the choir and more than twice that many tried out, so she was very proud.
Tomorrow night is her promotion ceremony and on Monday they had a field trip for the day to a pool. SHe is having just a wonderfully fun last week of school. That is a great way to end for her. SHe is even sick but can't wait to get up in the morning and go to school. I love that.

Renee,
That's great that Cait is having a great "end of the school year"!!! Tyler is also having a great time. Even though he won't be going back to that same school next year (he'll be going to Nathan's school). He's enjoying all the activites that are going on!
Nathan hugged his teacher all day on his last day!! He doesn't usually hug her....so she was thrilled! And he keeps repeating his "schedule"!!! "I'm all done with kindergarten?---then I go to Discovery center. And then I'll go back to Ridgeview for 1st grade?" I hear this CONSTANTLY!!! LOL I can't wait til Nathan is able to "relax" and not stress so much. At least that's what we're shooting for!! LOL

Renee,
Good for Cait! It's so wonderful to see our kids shine. David's school does a lot of productions, too, and I'm really glad. Well, okay, you didn't actually say they do a lot; for all I know this was the first one ever. I think it's good experience, though.
I remember having to do oral book reports in the fifth grade, which was the first time I ever had to get in front of a group. I used to be sick to my stomach for the entire time leading up to it, and my hands and voice would shake horribly as I read. Then, of course, I'd be afraid that people would notice I was shaking. I'd carefully look at the other kids to see if their papers were shaking in their hands, and I was very aware of being the ONLY ONE. What torture! By high school I wised up and just cut class and took the F. Ugh! I'm so glad they've been starting that stuff real early in David's school so they can get used to it before they reach that point in life where you just know everyone is staring and judging (which of course they are, being preteens themselves).
