Yesterday Chase(7yo AS)and I were in the middle of playing Carmen Sandiego on the computer and he turns to me and says,"Mommy, when did I first recognize life?" Chase has always had an odd way of phrasing things because of AS so I asked him what did he mean. He said, "when did I first realize I was alive?" What an interesting question. I told him to try and remember his first memory but he couldn't. He thinks of things, the smallest things, that have so much meaning. Today we were in the car just driving home from a Dr's appt and he just out of nowhere says," I guess before we had technology people just had to build contraptions for getting stuff done." Just thought I'd share. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far. Vicky

what a neat prospective your son has! He'll be a great idea man/problem solver when he gets older! My son thinks like this as well!

Wow, I just love that! I used to have experiences like that with my AS son all the time when he was younger. Now that he's 7, and his little brother is 3.5...and both of them together are as wild and naughty as a barrel of baboons...I'm afraid I don't get to really notice and enjoy his brilliant mind as much. At least that's how I feel lately! Chase sounds like an awesome little guy.
