Pat,

What a sweet account of your son. Thanks for sharing in such detail. I read every word, especially because it is so interesting to see where he started out and where he is now at age 11. My son, Cassian is on 5.5 yrs, and I have a hard time imagining who he will be when he is older.

Anyway, welcome to our board. I hope you find a lot of good info and support here.

Hi Pat,

I enjoyed reading about Jake... my just-turned-4 year old DS, Jack is also PDD-NOS. And it's interesting for me to read about older kids as I (probably futily) try and figure out what Jack will be like in several years.

Are you in CT?! I'm in Fairfield County.

Hi Pat!

I just wanted to welcome you and Jake to the board! I'm Michelle, and I have 2 boys, Tyler 8 NT, and Nathan 6 HFA. We just got Nathan dx'd last year, and we've been thru quite alot this past year. Dh hasn't taken it well, and neither has his brother. I have alot going on lately, we just bought a new house, and most of our house is packed!

Nathan has similiar speech issues like Jake. He also has a hard time with questions and usually responds with short answers....if he answers at all!! LOL Nathan also likes to take care of most of his needs (unless he's having a hard day..and then he wants helps with EVERYTHING!) Nate also likes routine, has verbal stims, and has a limited diet, as well. He's just starting to read, so we'll see how that goes!!

I thought it was cute how you commented on the "kissing you on your hand or arm". Nathan does this too!! It's very loving how they do this, isn't it?! And it's nice to hear that Jake has gone thru a few obsessions.....Nathan is always switching his interests too!!! But somehow, still holding on to the old interests too! LOL

Anyway, it's nice to have you here!
