Gluing project for school
Mon, 09-12-2005 - 10:02pm

Nathan brought home some homework that required cutting out "numbers" from magazines or newspapers and gluing them to the paper. Anything with numbers on it, like addresses, clocks, calendars, etc. So we went thru some magazines that I had. He was stimming the whole time. Eyes blinking, looking all around the room. I had to cut the pics out of the magazine, and then I had him trim down the pictures with his scissors. It took him FOREVER!!! He was trying to cut it out PERFECTLY. He's such a perfectionist! We only did 3 pictures. I think that was all he could handle.

He does ok gluing and cutting. But for some reason this homework seemed like a "project" for him! I felt like we should've cut out more pictures. But what could I do? He was so worked up by it! We had a couple other sheets of homework that we did first. And thank God we did them first. He needed a break after the whole gluing thing! He does go thru his worksheets really fast. He knows what he's doing, so that's nice. I can just imagine how his first art project in class will be!! He did ok last year. But one can never tell......
