I delayed writing this so I wouldn't jinx how things are going at school, but here goes.....

Last week was great for Sam. His teacher gave him a partner (not his "best" friend) to stand at the front of the line with him and that has seemed to help. The day the Sped Cooridinator and the OT went to observe him his "best" friend wasn't there and of course Sam was a complete angel (go figure!) Sam is drawn to kids with similar quirky borderline NT/AS behavior and it just becomes a love-hate thing. They love each other and play well together, but when there's a disagreement - watch out!!!

I don't think it's a coincidence that I made sure to give Sam his Zyrtec every morning last week. It wasn't my plan to make school easier for him, he just seemed very stuffy every morning last week and the week went great. His allergy test came out negative for any allergies, but he's *always* stuffy in the morning. So as long as he keeps waking up stuffy, I'm going to give him the Zyrtec. Maybe it's bothering him enough to make all the sensory stuff harder to handle and lessening his impulse control.

I have an appointment for a vision and behavioral vision test. I'm curious to see if that may be affecting his attention and reading difficulties. I also have an intake appt for social skills classes. We'll see how that goes. Our IEP meeting is next week and I have plenty of reading and note taking to do until then...... wish me luck!
