Mornings in my house

OMG, this stuff cracks me up. Only in a house like mine.

It is rather chilly, so Mike in his Mikey voice say, "can somebody close the window" (ok S. Cali so the windows are open)

This is followed by Dave saying "Can somebody close the atmosphere?!". Followed by Mike saying "But without the atmosphere we couldn't live..."

I have just been listening to the litany of atmosphere, gravity, universe, etc for the last 10 minutes. All 3 of them are having an animated conversation that borders on absent minded professor meets Abott and Costello (Who's on First) ROFL. Emily left the room, John was already gone and I was the only one left who could not follow the conversation. Though John would have likely got right in there with them adding puns to it.

Oh what an interesting life we lead.

Renee,

Your story really made me smile! Eric is only 3 but has that absent minded professor thing already. He is fond of telling me about the planets now and has memorized all the facts from "The Magic Schoolbus Lost in the Solar System."

He likes to go up to people and say things like "My favorite planet is Jupiter. We live on Earth." He has been known to point to someone and say, "What planet is he/she from?" (He means this literally, of course!) This is usually followed by "My favorite planet is Jupiter but we live on Earth." It cracks me up!

Oh-sounds just like my house. One morning Jake was debating his 3 yo sister on the differences of Orange juice and sunny delight. We had Sunny delight and she had called in OJ. I finally had to tell him to be quiet that it was ok if she called it OJ....

Only in houses like ours...

Love it, Renee!

We have similar conversations in our house, only with Emma being our NT middle child, she tries soooo hard to rationalize with her spectrum brother and sister. My favorite was the time when, after three minutes of fairly robust discussion, Emma looked at Noah and said, "Let's not have this fight now, okay?" He said "okay" and that was the end of it.

Or better yet, when Claire insists something is "hers" knowing darn good and well that it's not, she uses her inability to comprehend and/or maintain most conversations to get her way. She just starts making unusual noises until she scares the offending party away. Cracks me up every single time!

I am cracking up at all these stories! What a laugh!

In our house we have heated discussions about superhero powers; who may have what power, (according to Peter, girls can't have Super Strength -DD and I disagree) and which power may beat which others.

OK I just gave myself away there, I sometimes get sucked in to The Neverending Discussion too!

Yes but then would go into the litany of how it is not OK to call Sunny Delite OJ, because it isn't OJ. Oh yeah I can hear that one too, lol.

Sometimes I think I live on Mars. Sometimes I wish I could send my kids to the moon. I am there with Eric on his train of thought. But we live on earth, lol.

I do recall that we went into that-but then we got to the school so he had to get out of the car. But at least Katie was satisfied that I told her it was ok-she is definately NT-I have come to that conclusion in the last month-as she is getting closer to 4.
