Wow, 1 in 98. That is just plain scary. Sorry, but I would want to know what is going on environmentally in oregon. Sure some may be better diagnostics but 1 in 98? That isn't all diagnostics. Sorry. I just don't think so.

I said to my Dh that I always pictured people who live in oregon and the pacific northwest as being organic, healthy eaters.

Ya know, I don't doubt that screen is better now than in the 40's and 50's. Heck I know screening is better now than when my kids were little. I know there wasn't a MCHAT then. My kids lost out alot from not having that early screening, yet they are on the spectrum all the same.

However, screening alone cannot make up for the fact of 1 in 98. Either they are over diagnosing if it is screening or something else is going on.

Over 1% with autism! Oh boy. I thought rates were beginning to go down.
