Getting ready to go to museum

We want to take Sam to the Science Museum for spring break.

I'm nervous because we'll have to drive for about an hour, then get on a commuter train which will take us to the subway to get to the museum which will probably be busy, noisy...etc. I think the train ride could be relaxing and fun for Sam though.

I'm more worried about me because I don't like crowded noisy places and Sam likes to dash off in all directions which totally freaks me out.

I've decided on some main rules.....

We all have to stay together

We need to find a quiet(er) place every now and then for all involved

*I* need to eat every 2 hours (I think good timing for the quiet break too.)

I will try not to spout off any weird consequences if Sam is starting to be noncompliant or has a hard time hearing/listening. A bad habit I have when I'm not holding it together very well which only results in a meltdown from Sam. I'm still having a hard time with the not hearing/listening to me in public thing. It's very hard to focus on the baby, all the stuff around me and Sam darting this way and that and by the end of an outing I'm really tired.

Any other advice?
