Morning -

My dd (PDD-NOS, 3yrs 2mos)missed her age 3 doc's appoint, mainly because I changed jobs and didn't have my new insurance cards etc and didn't want to have to wait for the reimbursements etc...

Anyway, I think she has a catch up vaccination scheduled (due to a shortage) and I am wondering are there non-thimerasol or non mercury preserved vaccines available? I know there are arguments on both sides of this debate and I'd just as soon not have her take the thimerasol/mercury preserved and am perfectly willing to change pediatricians if necessary. I just don't want to ask for something that doesn't even exist....

They started phasing Thimerosal out of childhood vaccines in 1999 so most of them except for the flu shot should be Thimerosal free by now.

However, they didnt; recall, and vaccines have a long shelf life, so check that your doc that is not using old stock.

here is a site which lists the current (2006) Thimerosal content in many vaccines.
