LR,
I was just reading your reply to one of the new members about the connection of Autism to schizophrenia. This is so interesting to me because both my older sister and my father both have schizophrenia and in fact at one time after Jakes diagnosis I even questioned my sisters diagnosis and thought maybe in fact she was Autistic as a child and later developed schizophrenia as a teenager because of my moms description of her as a toddler and my own memories of her growing up. I totally understand the need to get past the 36 year old mark because everything I've read about schizophrenia says that your chances of developing it after that age are very low.Where have you read about the connection to Autism? I know Autism was at one point referred to as childhood schizophrenia. Why did it lose this term? Is it just the paranoid part of schizophrenia that makes it different to autism? Sorry about the questions but this topic is very close to my heart!
