Well, ya know Paula, if her mum just sent in the right school supplies like notebooks she would do fine.

It is first grade. We don't even have reps in 1st grade. Geesh. I can't imagine they will expect much from a first grader. I would ask her. If she wants to do it, let her have the chance to do it and see what happens. It will be a good experience in mainstreaming and such. Cait wanted to be on the school safety patrol last year. She wasn't ready either but we let her do it. They had to make lots of modifications but over all it turned out to be a real positive for Miss Cait.

Ya might be right. By fifth grade she'll be campaigning for equal rights for special needs kid and free school lunches.

HEY! (Says the current treasure of local PTA)

Now. I didn't say she'd be correct in, or on target with her dissidence.

She'll just be a rebellious and disillusioned-on-purpose 10yo (is one 10 in 5th grade?)
