OMG! I still get shivers thinking about this....
Yesterday morning, We were pottering around doing chores and the like. Peter was in his room purportedly cleaning it.
So I called him out to get ready for lunch.

I've always been suspicious of children's science kits. Not that we don't use them, but after my own mother taught me how to make a 'noisemaker' using calcium carbide as a key ingrediant I've always had the sneaking suspicion that there might be another toy maker out there somewhere who's a little too much like Dear Old Mum.
All of our science kits are stored in the kitchen in hard to reach cabinets and my DH is heck on any child who tries to get them down without permision (and supervision). But on the other hand, he taught them how to make flash grenades recently, including the history of them and why we don't use them as firecrackers.

OMG is right! Heaven's Paula! I think my hair would have turned white and fallen out from the shock!
You handled it well. Whew!
Eric has had sudden renewed interest in electrical outlets lately. I caught him today trying to poke a stick in one "to see what would happen." He can pull out the baby proof thingees now.
Guess boys will be boys, but still!

That is really scarey! It doesn't matter what your child may be diagnosed with or not this kind of thing still has no right in the hands of a child. I'm so glad your son is OK.

Oh Geez Paula,
So did you have to get some clairol that night to cover the grays or a wig cause you pulled it all out.
Kudos to you for remaining calm. I am glad mike is into legos and not chemistry. Ok he says he is interested in chemistry and even says he wants to be a CSI guy but given the choice to buy himself something, the lego ALWAYS wins.

Luckily/unluckily, I had given myself the Clairol treatment a
